Imagine this cup and saucer sitting on the table in Henrietta's kitchen while a young Theodor was encouraged to draw and paint. For me, this pattern is what a young Dr Seuss could have been inspired by, as illustrated in many of his more than 60 children's books, which he penned, beginning with his first in 1937. This set is marked AGR (AG Richardson), the mark for 1915 – 1925. Cup 8,5 x 6,5 cm, saucer 12 cm. It has some crazing and marks.
