This trumpet-shaped centrepiece features three arms with three hanging baskets, traditionally used for sweetmeats, fruit, or candies. This was designed by John Collyer Ltd, Birmingham, during the Edwardian era, from 1901 to 1919 (the mark suggests it's more to the latter part of the Edwardian era). The company in Hockley Hill was registered in 1904 and ceased operations around the 1940s. This makes any of the items they made rare and highly collectable. This is an exceptional piece that, when decorated, is the centre of attention in a room. As a standalone, it’s a beautiful piece for a table or sideboard. There is some wear on the inside of the baskets and some of the inside of the trumpet; otherwise, it's in excellent condition. 32 x 40 cm.
