Common in the 50s, this style of ceramics included reticulation on the edge, a practice of cutting out sections of pottery that has been around since the 1840s. These Italian artists then added elements, in this case, tulips and tulip buds and hand-painted the platter. A touch of gold was added to bring it all to life. This is a very special piece that has loads of character and excellent craftsmanship. Some of the delicate bits have broken off (see images for damage) but in the main, it's in very good condition. 35 cm x 31,5 x 6 cm.
